I am not sure what this really means to us, to the Middle East or to the men and women fighting over seas. Don’t get me wrong. I am very happy he is dead. Just as I was with Saddam Hussein. I didn’t agree with the war, but his being killed was the one positive. So, yes, the fucker can rot in hell and as liberal as I am often called – I don’t give a shit how fair or legal his (either quite frankly) death was.
BUT…there are a whole lot of other freaky ass terrorists whom are waiting in the wings. So will this change the war? I doubt it. Does this announcement put our troops at a much greater risk? I believe so – in the near future I mean. I do think this will raise morale and will give some purpose to the men and women over there who may be wondering WHY. And that is good.
But aside from revenge, getting rid of an evil waste of oxygen, and building morale – I think that is about all this really means. Which are valid consequences and fine by me.
