Today I am wearing purple to show my support in the fight against the bullying of gay and lesbian kids and adults. I am wearing purple for all the wonderful homosexual people I have known in my life who would have benefited from the tolerance, acceptance and equal rights as they grew into who they are. I am wearing purple for the kid whom I never met who should be able to be assured that his nature – though different from others – is still natural. I am wearing purple today in honor of those children, teens and adults who took their own lives out of fear, depression and sense of unworthiness. I am wearing purple to help spread awareness that society needs to STOP making these people feel fearful, depressed and unworthy. I am wearing purple today October 20th, 2010 in hopes that we will one day soon see homosexual intolerance and harassment as an ancient mentality.
