Robert Schimmel: Comedian Who Laughed Through Pain

Standard

Robert Schimmel was a popular stand up comedian who died last week after an automobile accident with his daughter who was driving. Schimmel was a 60 year old man who had been through some of the most difficult life moments.

Born in NY in 1950, Schimmel was headed for a life full of obstacles. His son, at the young age of 11, died from Leukemia. Not long after, Schimmel was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Married, divorced and married again he went on to have more children and become a successful comedian.

On September 3, 2010, Robert Schimmel died in a car accident in Pheonix.  As you can see from posts he made on his Facebook, that he was not doing well in regards to his health just prior to the accident. I only can hope this was an easier and more merciful way for him to go.

Here are some video clips of Robert Schimmel – one hell of a smart ass comedian who believed laughter and humor could get a person through…well, anything.
